Forum Slow-downs

Hi guys,

Bravo asked me to look into some issues on his website (since I'm very techy <gloat>) but I haven't had a response to my last email to him, so I'm taking the initiative, being proactive and all that useful kinda stuff.

Basically - I want to know if anyone has been experiencing any slow-downs on this forum, or on any other part of his site. I've seen this a few times, but want to make sure it's not just my shitty wireless related problem.

Specific things I'm looking for:

• When loading (any) pages, posts, etc - do you get a white, unformatted look before it loads the grey theme.
• Does it take anyone a long time to load the page initially - meaning, the page goes blank for a long time... but not (a separate issue):
• When you click a link, does the page stay the same before it looks like it's doing anything (status bar may say the page is loading, but the progress bar doesn't move.
• PM messages taking long time to send
• Profile taking a long time to update when you save changes
• Posts loading but any attached images (not linked) taking FOREVER to show.
• And finally, forum side-images, such as belts and user avatars taking a while or not loading at all until you refresh.

If anyone has or does experience this, could you reply to this post or send me a PM, with as much detail about what happened as possible.

Also, if you're experiencing any particular problems with one forum especially, let me know ASAP.

Hey Kaos. The white font in your message is really tough to read for folks with the grey/gray (delete according to nationality) background - thought I'd let you know. But from what I think I can see I get the third problem with some regularity, and have even been timed out a couple of times after clicking on a link.

been happening to me quite a bit lately. when i click a link to open a specific category or post, it just sits there acting like nothing is happening, for sometimes up to 60 seconds, then it will open the page. its seems to go in spurts. if this happens to me once, it will most likely happen repeatedly for awhile. other times, it works fine.

Also this exact Phenomena is occurring right now as I type this, took me about a minute and a half to get to the page where I'm quoting KoA.

I decided to see check this topic to see if anyone else was experiencing it.

It occurs a couple of times a day for me and is really frustrating.

I'm not as techy a guy as you probably are Kaos, but my initial impression is the service provider sucks balls.

Yeah, I would agree with this, GoDaddy has never been great for service.

When Bravo sorts this out for me, I'll look at streamlining the database itself to cut some of these issues, and look at the template to fix the "white screen" issue.

Kaos, it's been much better for me lately - almost no problems (no doubt I have jinxed myself with this post!).
